Common Threads

Common Threads frames the historically and culturally rich craft of quilting as a catalyst for radical resistance by placing quilting into the context of activism. The book highlights the resilience of select quilts among marginalized communities, artists and activists through excerpts from essays, interviews, and news articles, touching on areas such as indigeneity, queerness, sexual violence, incarceration and race.

This book was designed and completed for the undergraduate BFA Capstone program at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts.
